2 August 67 US Killed in Iraq
3 August 79 US Killed in Iraq
4 August 68 US Killed in Iraq
5 August 81 US Killed in Iraq
6 August 94 US Killed in Iraq

There is a portion of estimate in this number ...
Today was very difficult to get even close.
I believe I am on the low side by quite a number.

I'm estimating on the number of vehicles destroyed
and the intensity of the battles and base strikes
while relating to similar instances.

For example 6 vehicles carrying 6 men each destroyed
and on fire I counted as 10 kills out of a possible 36..

Just because the Americans block media from counting
their dead doesn't mean they didn't have men killed.

· Fighting continues as Americans bomb residential
neighborhoods in al-Hadithah.

· US blows up Barwanah Bridge after failing to take
it in ground assaults.

· American Marines surround all 73 mosques in ar-Ramadi,
then start campaign of ransacking and ripping up copies
of the Qur'an. Reporter submits photo.

· Deadly Resistance attacks bludgeon US forces in Babil
Province south of Baghdad.

Iron and Clay ... Helping Americans Count Their Dead

If I could be so bold as to make a military observation here.
I'm concerned for the Bush Administration as to how they must
be having trouble hiding all these dead from their families ...
this week isn't over and and already 471 dead.

The US could cut the number of soldiers killed by simply only
attacking one city at a time and withdrawing all other troops
to dis-used bunkers made by Saddam for that time.

Alternatively a complete withdraw from Iraq would help as well.

2 August 67 US Killed in Iraq
3 August 79 US Killed in Iraq
4 August 68 US Killed in Iraq
5 August 81 US Killed in Iraq

6 August 104 US Killed in Iraq ... this number has been
upgraded since yesterday .. I had allowed 10 kills at one
point and it's now confirmed to be 20 kills ... I thought
I was being a bit tight on the day.

7 August 72 US Killed in Iraq. This number will probably
be upgraded by tomorrow as the battle in Al-Hadithah
has not allowed clear outcome. Al-Hadithah has turned into
a real shithole for the US.
